Sock and Shoe Aid

Gets socks and shoes on without bending all the way down.

A sock aid device being used to pull a sock onto a foot without bending

Why we like it

Bending down to put on socks or shoes is one of those everyday movements that becomes genuinely difficult after hip or back surgery, or with limited flexibility. This device holds the sock or shoe open at the correct shape, so the foot slides in with the cords pulled from a standing or seated position — no bending required.

  • Long cords mean socks and shoes go on without bending over
  • Flexible frame cradles the heel to keep the sock shape open
  • Works for socks, compression stockings, and slip-on shoes
  • Lightweight and easy to pack when travelling

Good to know

It takes a little practice to get the sock seated evenly on the frame the first few times — after that it becomes quick and automatic.
